We transform English-speaking, low-literate adults, who live in Salt Lake or Davis Counties in Utah, into skilled, passionate, habitual, critical readers, writers, and mathematicians. We also educate community volunteers to work one-on-one or in group settings with these adult learners. For more information, see www.LiteracyActionCenter.org. My Success Story by Venessa
I feel that one of my successes from my experience here at the Literacy Action Center is learning great patience. Why is patience so important to me? The answer is because of my five-year-old son. He is starting kindergarten this fall and now having a better understanding and experience with patience. I know I will be able to help my son with his schoolwork in a greater and deeper manner.
