We transform English-speaking, low-literate adults, who live in Salt Lake or Davis Counties in Utah, into skilled, passionate, habitual, critical readers, writers, and mathematicians. We also educate community volunteers to work one-on-one or in group settings with these adult learners. For more information, see www.LiteracyActionCenter.org. Finding my way to school for the first time by Julie
I rode my wheelchair to the local UTA bus stop, which took me to the trax station. Then I found the other bus that took me to the Taco Bell. I rode in my chair from Taco Bell to the Literacy Action Center at 3595 S Main Street. It was the first time I found the building without any assistance from the director or the students.
