Literacy Action Center's 2015 Benefit

You want it, we've got it. An evening of intrigue, designed with you in mind.

Lily Havey shares her life in an internment camp through her art with us. She draws us in to help us understand the world of a youth torn up by war.

Pilar Pobil shares a piece from her work, too. And, Jane Beckwith shares a bit about the new visitor's center at Topaz, the Utah internment camp.

But that's not all...this whole evening is in Pilar's Garden in the lower avenues. You'll spend the evening among fragrant late spring blossoms.

But we aren't stopping there. The delicious edibles, such as inari sushi and gyoza dumplings, are sponsored by Makiko's Japanese-style Daycare Center - definitely not your ordinary day care fare.

Imagine nibbling these delicate morsels on china plates in a late spring garden. The china, cloth napkins, and all the other accouterments that add elegance and sparkle to any outdoor event are being donated for the evening by Blue Bird Vintage Rentals.

But there's more. Imagine wondering through the garden, nibbling, donating, and chatting while Karen Perkins' and Anne Parry's flutes play melodic tones in the background.

And, even more - silent auctions, learner accomplishments,...

And, we can't forget the most important part of the evening - You! You and a group of your friends listening, sharing, and giving to impact the lives of many adults in our community who need your help to change their lives.
